Who are we?

The University of Klagenfurt is the largest research and higher education institution in the state of Carinthia. It ranks among the 350 best universities worldwide (THE ranking). The Department of Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship acts as a central knowledge hub in the field of Entrepreneurship. Special series of events for founders, a separate entrepreneurship study branch at Master level and a PhD program in Entrepreneurship are offered. Moreover, students profit from an optimal infrastructural framework that facilitates idea and business model generation (inspire!Lab), rapid prototyping (Fab Lab) and company foundation (incubator build!).

To approach the rising importance of interdisciplinarity, insights from other faculties (cultural and technical faculty) inform our know-how delivery. Moreover, students and other stakeholders profit from our research strength by having access to latest research findings. With specific offerings for the public (e.g. the public lecture “Erfolgreich selbständig werden” and a range of events in the course of the series “WiWiaktuell”.

The Department of Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship provides extensive knowledge in how to develop an innovation from the idea into a successful product or an entire new company.
