Zentrum für Angewandte Technologie Leoben
The Center for Applied Technology was founded in 1999 as the first university spin-off center in Austria. With its headquarters in close proximity to the University of Leoben, the main focus is directed at researchers and innovative personalities from around the University. Especially the expertise and the complex network of Montana University in the area of materials and their applications, however, have caused numerous projects to settle there also from regions outside of Leoben and establish their own start-up. The Center for Applied Technology is able to work together with a selected network of specialists to provide assistance to all business-related areas.
Together with the shareholders, the University of Leoben and the city more than 50 spin-off projects and provide support - and to lead a successful start to a solid growth. These young high-tech companies have in turn created more than 225 mostly academic jobs in the region.
